The South African soccer team returned to World Football in 1992 after the apartheid ban was lifted. They won the African Cup of Nations in 1996 and have participated in three World Cups (1998, 2002 & 2010). In 2010 South Africa became the first country to host the FIFA World Cup from Africa. 10. Andre Arendse
Date of Birth: June 27, 1967Andre Arendse was the South African player of the year in 2002. He represented South Africa in four African Cup of Nations (1996, 2000, 2002 & 2004) and one World Cup (2002) as he was unable to play in the 1998 World Cup due to injury. Andre Arendse is the best South African goalkeeper ever.

9. Doctor Khumalo
Date of Birth: June 26, 1967Doctor Khumalo was the South African player of the year in 1992 and was named 62^nd in the Top 100 Great South Africans of all time poll in 2004. The 2012 African Cup of Nations final match was between Zambia and Cote d’Ivoire. The Elephants of Cote d’Ivoire won the Cup 20 years ago while the famous KK-Eleven of Zambia crashed most of their players about 20 years ago. In the 69^th minute Didier Drogba lost a penalty that could have made him the highest goal scorer of the tournament or possibly the opportunity to lift the cup for his country. After 120 goalless minutes of play the game went to penalties and Zambia won by 8-7. Zambia won the cup for the first time in their history.
